A brief history....
Sheila Bautz is the founder of Sharabia Acres, a breeding facility inspired after she saw her first Arabian as a young teenager. Her fate was sealed when, shortly after that, she watched a television program highlighting William and Lillian Mantei's Straight Egyptian Arabian breeding program at Diamond M Arabians in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. (Home of Shamruk!)
Although Sheila has owned horses a majority of her life, she purchased her first Straight Egyptian Arabian mare in 1997, Sharabia's Essence (Imperial Saturn x Imperial Nasreena). Her next Straight Egyptian Arabian that she attained was Ramza Moniet (Ibn Safinaz x Egyptian Melody) in 1998, along with a yearling colt, V Rashah (V Shah El Sareei x AK Rafina).
Sheila and Curtis' Straight Egyptian Arabian herd has since expanded, incorporating quality horses of various lineages. Sheila has spent the last decade recruiting Straight Egyptian Arabians by attaining a diverse group of broodmares. Her intent is to aid in contributing to the Straight Egyptian Arabian gene pool by breeding quality horses for out crossing within the Straight Egyptian breed.
As such, Sheila is responsible for the research and recruitment of Straight Egyptian Arabian "prospects", as well as making the breeding decisions at Sharabia Acres. In addition, she rides Western with the goal to learn to ride english. She is also a mother, a writer, an artist and a Reiki Master.
